What is this Convention About?

This convention is to elect new party unit leadership, and State Central Delegates & Alternates, and sometimes the Party Unit makes amendments to their Constitution and Bylaws.

The only people who can vote in these conventions are precinct delegates & alternates elected at the Precinct Caucuses in February 2024, about a week before the Presidential Primary. Though any Republican who lives in the district can run for a position, but can’t vote if they were not elected as a delegate or alternate at the Precinct Caucus in 2024. Delegate & Alternate terms run for 2 years in even years, with an exception in Redistricting years.

HD 66A is the District Rep Leigh Finke Serves

This District in the past has had multiple term DFL State Representatives winning going back for a long time. The previous State Rep from this area was Representative Alice Hausman who won in a special election in 1989 and served in the district until leaving office in January 2023 when she retired. She went through 3 redistricting periods. You can thank her for writing the bill that created the Green Line LRT.

Then in 2022 Leigh Finke ran and won the DFL endorsement in a 3 candidate convention for the seat. Leigh Finke is a man who pretends to be a woman. He won USA Today’s 2022 Woman of the Year. He is responsible for many laws enacted in his first term in office. He wrote the bill that put Tampons in Boys Bathrooms in Public Schools. He wrote the bill that made Minnesota into a “transgender” state (there is no such thing as a transgender person). He also wrote the bill that allowed minors to get “gender affirming care” without parental notification and they could cross state lines without a parent to get this permanent surgery which effectively sterilizes the patient; this bill did not have informed consent meaning the patient isn’t informed of the extent of the surgery and what it means.

Why Mention who is the current State Representative?

One would think this House District party unit could be fundraising on trying to defeat this pariah named Chris “Leigh” Finke. Having fundraisers with possibly the biggest donor to the MN GOP, Stan Hubbard, whose family owns the TV & Radio Station of KSTP which is on the edge of this House District on University Avenue next to the border of Minneapolis. Mr. Hubbard donates $100,000 a year roughly to the state party and not 1 penny of that goes to HD 66A Republicans. He hasn’t given 1 penny ever, as far as we know, to the Republican organizations in St Paul. If people remind him of this perhaps he might cough up some money to defeat this pariah named Leigh Finke.
